The unveiling of this privacy solution, which is EVM-compatible and boasts subsecond ZK proving times, represents a significant improvement in on-chain privacy. This enhancement offers end-users nearly instantaneous access to increased confidentiality.

Aleph Zero plans to create zkOS, a chain-agnostic, client-side privacy system using zero-knowledge technology.

The project aims to provide Privacy-as-a-Service (PaaS) through seamless app integration on WASM and EVM-compatible networks, increasing inclusivity and potential growth across multiple chains. zkOS will enable confidential transactions and high-capacity applications.

Aleph Zero’s

Aleph Zero’s Co-founder, Antoni Zolciak aims to tackle the challenges of privacy that remain unresolved due to its high costs and complexity. The lack of economic incentives is also a concern for various use cases.

With zkOS by Aleph Zero and their layer 2 EVM-privacy technology, as well as collaborations with idOS network on Arbitrum Orbit stack flexibility, they hope not only to address these issues in-house but extend it beyond into larger Ethereum ecosystem too .

Aleph Zero’s blockchain, launched in November 2021, operates on a Substrate-based WASM Layer 1 system, supporting up to 170 validator nodes and providing developers with subsecond finality.

It has attracted over forty external teams and is now designated as the Data Availability layer for L2 EVM layers and their associated applications.

Aleph Zero EVM, a Layer 2 Ethereum chain with Arbitrum Anytrust DAC technology, processes thousands of transactions per second with 250ms block times and instantaneous transaction finality.

Gelato’s founder

According to Gelato’s Founder, Luis Schliesske, the Aleph Zero EVM leverages Arbitrum Orbits’ top-notch web3 scaling technology and cutting-edge developer tools. As a result, it provides exceptional blockchain infrastructure that enhances privacy protections which is unparalleled in today’s market. Furthermore, he predicts that privacy will gradually become an important story in 2024 as more common applications emerge.

The platform utilizes the Halo2 technology along with KZG commitment scheme to achieve quick processing times while maintaining trustworthiness across all systems.

Although more development effort is required compared to other platforms like Noir or Risc0; integration using the bolt.

Aleph Zero’s zkToolkit streamlines overall usage allowing high performance within both Ethereum and Apeh Zero ecosystems effortlessly.

Roadmap For Development

Today marks the launch of EVM Testnet, paving the way for developers to deploy apps with optional privacy features.

The Mainnet release is scheduled for Q3 2024.

zkOS MVP with ZK identity components from idOS and private operations on arbitrary ERC-20 tokens are expected by Q3-Q4 2024

Advanced functionalities in Ernest & Young (EY)’s zero-knowledge operating system (zkOs) will be available sometime

During Q1 2025 according to alephzero.org’s roadmap section where users can find comprehensive information regarding these developments.
